Gynecology Information on the Web
September 12 , 2007

I am very excited about this new blog, and I hope there are other bloggers out there who will be as excited as I am when they start to read and contribute to this blog. Since this is my first post, let me start by explaining why I started this blog in the first place.

I have been privileged to be a obstetrician/gynecologist for the past eight years or so. I love my job, because I have the opportunity to help people through some of the happiest and most difficult times of their lives. However, soemtimes one learns that the most rewarding things are not necessarily the things that you anticipated, they may be things or events that yoiu never knew about until you got there.

This is what happened with me in my career. I love delivering babies, doing gynecologic procedures, and traeting all sorts of medical problems. But little did I know how important it was to simply sit and talk with people. Being able to listen to their issues, whether they are happy or sad, and being able to provide poeple with information and experience that can truly help them make important decisions.

As it turned out, this is my favorite part of what I do. Just listening and talking. People are truly fascinating. I never knew this when I was training in medical school, but I learned it now.

So here I am starting a blog. Now I can just talk with people about their issues, and maybe teach a little, learn a lot, and maybe help someone out there understand things a little better.

So in this blog we will discuss all sorts of "hot topics" in gyn, get some ideas from you readers what is on your minds, and maybe we can be adventurous together and explore things that we never knew would be exciting and interesting.
