What will happen when I get the results of the Pap Smear?
Obviously, this depends upon the results. If the cells look normal, no treatment is necessary. However, if the pap test picks up an abnormality, your doctor will discuss with you what needs to be done. For example, the test may show that you have an infection. In this case, you may be treated for the infection and need to be retested in a few months.
