Labor Induction
Why would my doctor recommend a labor induction?

The most common reason for labor induction is that the pregnancy has gone significantly past your due date. It is dangerous to carry a baby more than 2 weeks past the due date. The baby may not be able to get enough nutrition from the placenta. Your doctor might also recommend labor induction for other medical reasons such as:
  • Your water breaks before you go into labor.
  • You have high blood pressure.
  • You have a serious infection.
  • You have diabetes.
