What is an ectopic pregnancy?


An ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy that occurs outside of the uterine cavity.  The most common place for an ectopic pregnancy to occur is in the fallopian tubes (95%), but it can occur within the abdominal cavity, on the ovary, in the cervix, or in the muscle of the uterus.
